Over exertion, ALT's, and Gokiburi
This will be MUCH shorter than my previous post. After coming back from Korea I went to a party in Fukuoka, and after missing my last train home proceeded to stay out all night hitting the dance clubs with those of my friends who were crazy enough to stay out all night or were in the same boat as I was and had no choice but to dance or crash somewhere in the city until our next chance home departed at around 7 or 8 am.
Due to this all-night party business on top of the previous yamakasa/korea action, I have come down with a cold. Not a miserable head-pounding cold. I just came down with an extremely sore throat and lost my voice for half a day. I am now on meds and well on my way to recovery...however, I don't think the constant transitioning between sweltering summer heat and ice-cold airconditioned rooms is helping my immune system in its current battle.
This years ALT's are dropping like flies....errr leaving one at a time. Nicole and Eric have already departed, leaving the 2 Brits. Zoe and Matt will both be leaving Nogata in less than a week. Hard to believe. Okay so as I was typing this I heard a scuttling noise, noticed my black and white Dizzy Gillespie poster was not quite the way I remembered it...and that's when I busted out the poison spray and blasted a large roach to kingdom-come. The bad news is it proceeded to fall into a vase of flowers I was just given. I am now debating on how to remove him/her/it, and wondering if the poison I covered it in is now going to kill the flowers I was just given? Cockroach, gokiburi in Japanese, I had not seen one in person until I moved here. One view was more than enough. They are not cute. I'm going to figure out a way to dispose of the corpse, eat a snack and go to bed. Time for a bug bomb perhaps? Goodnight!!
